Census records are one of the best places to find your ancestors as they
document almost everyone who lived in a particular location when the census
was conducted.

surviving United States Federal Census records from 1790 to 1930. This
includes a huge searchable index and scanned images of the original census

This comes on top of the 1940 US Census which we first released on
FamilyLink in April 2012, and billions of other historical records already
provided. FamilyLink just got a whole lot better.

The 1790 to 1930 census records vary in the information they provide, but
generally the later the year the more information available. Records
typically include name, age, address, birthplace, members of the household,
and additional information including occupation and education. Finding a
person in a census record can often lead to additional discoveries.
